About Catawba Riverkeeper
Catawba Riverkeeper preserves, protects, and restores the waters of the Catawba-Wateree River basin for all through education, advocacy, and engagement. While Catawba Riverkeeper is headquartered in McAdenville, NC, we employ a Northern Basin Watershed Manager based in Morganton, NC, who focuses on the waterways upstream of Lake Norman, including Lake James. Explore our Northern Catawba Basin Protection and Restoration Plan to see potential projects that would improve water quality across the mountains and foothills portions of the basin in North Carolina. Other programs benefitting the Lake James watershed include Swim Guide, macroinvertebrate sampling, trash traps, Riversweep, and restoration projects.
